No Doubt sticks to its roots on Caribbean-flavored "Settle Down"

No-doubt-settle-down

While it's been more than 10 years since No Doubt released their last studio album,Rocksteady, you wouldn't be able to tell it by the vibe of their comeback single, "Settle Down." The island-flavored song essentially picks up right where the band left off, firmly planted in its reggae/rock stylings.
The other amazing feat is that Gwen Stefani, now a 42-year-old mother of two, doesn't look like she's aged at all in the past 10 years. And she still fits into the clothes she wore when she was in her 20s. Who's bad?

Ke$ha slays unicorns, James Van Der Beek in absurdly fun "Blow" video

That Ke$ha really knows how to have a good time, in a Girls Gone Wild meets Mad TVway. The Dr.Luke spawn is known for quirky sense of fashion and humor, and she uses them to her strength in the oddly amusing video for the latest single from her re-releaseCannibal.
Displaying some notable comedic chops, Ke$ha calls on James Van Der Beek to play her her waiter at a cocktail party attended by unicorn people. As the evening wears on, Ke$ha and Van Der Beek lock eyes and have an intense exchange. But things don't end how you think they normally would.

Willow Smith built this city in "21st Century Girl"

Willow_21stcentury

Taking advantage of the acting chops passed down to her by her Hollywood parents, Willow Smith crafts a bit of storyline for her video to "21st Century Girl," the follow-up to "Whip My Hair." She even has acting legend Cicely Tyson play the wandering sorceress in the opening of the clip. It pays to have parents in high places.
It's part-Biblical creationism and part-Star Wars, but Cicely Tyson stumbles around in the desert, finds the magic ingredient and arranges jewlery accessories around it, bringing Willow Smith, in a sassy camoflauge hoodie, to life. Believe in magic, ok?

Rihanna shoots to kill in "Man Down" video

Rihanna_mandown

Rihanna’s fifth single “Man Down,” off of her fifth studio album Loud, shows that while the Barbados-born singer may have moved off the island, she hasn’t lost touch with her Caribbean roots. The video was shot in Jamaica and co-stars Jamaican-born model Oraine Barrett.
“I’ve always wanted to do a video here, ‘Man Down’ is just the song,” Rihanna said in atwitvid that gave a behind-the-scenes look at the video. “It has to be authentic. You can’t get any realer than Jamaica.”
And real it got, as Rihanna shoots Barrett down after he forces himself on her after an intimate encounter at a dancehall party. Scenes of the starlet peddling down dirt roads on a bike, kissing locals in the street and drinking from a freshly sliced coconut gave it that extra touch of authenticity that took us back to the Rihanna we met way back in 2005. It was like a princess returning to her kingdom.

Maroon 5 tributes Mick Jagger in "Moves Like Jagger" video

Moveslikejagger

As dynamic frontmen go, the Rolling Stones' lead singer, Mick Jagger, is simply one of the best. His skinny waist and flamboyant stage antics have made him a rock legend for the last 5 decades. And he's strangely had a bit of a resurgence in pop music as of late with both Ke$ha and the Black Eyed Peas name dropping him in songs.
Maybe it was those references to Mick in contemporary pop music that inspired Adam Levine and the boys of Maroon 5 to craft a whole song around having the "moves like Jagger."
The only thing Levine forgot? Mick Jagger's moves. If you're going to write a song about dancing up a storm like Mick Jagger, then you better cut a rug in your video. Instead, Adam gives a shoulder shimmy here and a half-hearted hip thrust there. As for guest star Christina Aguilera, she looks like she overslept and hurriedly grabbed whatever she could out of Mother Goose's closet and headed to the set.

Lady Gaga storms Nebraska in "You and I" video

Gaga_youandI

After taking a break from her "throw in everything and the kitchen sink" approach to music videos for "Edge of Glory," Lady Gaga is back to her old tricks in the wildly fantastical video for the lone ballad on her sophomore album, Born This Way.
The main theme of the video is: Gaga does Nebraska. That means she plays in corn fields, dances a honky tonk dance in a barn and walks her blistered-but-still-high-heel-wearing feet on a lonely stretch of open road.

Adele goes for a walk in "Someone Like You" video

This is Adele.
This is Adele in black and white.
This is Adele walking the streets of Paris, France.
Adele is sad. Someone really beloved to her broke her heart, stomped on it, threw it in the garbage disposal, microwaved it and set it on fire. It hurt.
This is the video for "Someone Like You."
